What do you propose to do to curb government waste?
Q. While most of our work has been in private business, I have worked for government contractors and my wife has worked for a government agency. We find the inefficiency in government operations to be very distressing. Staffs are bloated with political appointees who do little to further the mission of their agency and even the most fundamental and sensible business practices seem to have been ignored. I would not go so far as to say that nobody in government run operations cares, but the rosters are filled with individuals who are more committed to showing up late, leaving early and collecting a check than are in any private business I have seen. It's hard to imagine how many millions, perhaps billions of dollars are wasted due to lack… [cont.]

A. The easiest way to curb government waste is to curb government spending. If all of the entitlement (welfare) programs were ended today, then the government would be only 30% of its current size. That would cut waste down to 30% of its current level assuming that all programs are equally wasteful.
