What do you think? If corruption is an easy and efficient way to make a profit, then in a capitalist...?
Q. If corruption is an easy and efficient way to make a profit, then in a capitalist system corruption exists unless proven otherwise - particularly if "extreme profits" are being made. What do you think?

A. Go to countries such as the Philippines, and you'll find how corruption affects every fiber of society, including business. Try as they might to stop corruption, it has been so ingrained in the system that it is so hard to fight it Take for example a bridge project On paper, the plan and budget approved was for a 4 lane bridge say for $100 million But corruption kicks in. The mayor wants a cut. The guys in the Department of Public Works wants a cut. The middleman wants a cut. The result is a 2 lane bridge for $200 million -- with about half going into the pockets of corrupt officials So is it profitable? YOU BET -- but only for the politicians. Not for the business owners who must pay for these additional expenses as pay off to… [cont.]

How can the democratic world ensure against corruption by dictators like Marcos in the Phillipines ?
Q. Just wondering how and why the developed world, particularly the US and now possibly even Australia could allow corruption that impoverished a developing country like the Phillipines to occur. Trillions of dollars poured into the country, which held the strongest US Airforce bases outside the USA, yet the people starved, were imprisoned, names removed from electoral rolls etc... while Imelda bought 3000 new pairs of shoes ! Also remember East Timor and and how our Australian Government turned a blind eye, untill we realised we just might want the mineral and natural gas rights and our Military is effective enough to ensure it !

A. don't mention him! he's a nightmare! as if for my answer, I'Ll never know. that's why i keep saying we have a stupid government. things are complicated in here and we wouldn't want other countries tangled up with it. the US did establish a proper democracy in here. but it changed after we became an independent nation. It's like when a swim teacher carries his student who doesn't know how to swim. he carries the student like he's superman in the water. then the swim teacher let goes. then the student panics and swallows a whole lot of water. always remember that cyber relationships are nothing but a fantasy. never spill your secrets to one another. but in OUR case... never mind. give ten points to someone else, daaarling. xo
